Question: HORRRRRRIIIBBBLLLEEE postSURGERY PAIN!?
so im 16 and i have my appendix taken out 2weeks and 2 days ago (not casue of appenditcious) i went in on the 7th then came home on the 8th on the 9th i began to throw up so i went to the ER and i was home the 10th all they did was give me 2 days worth of different pain meds then the following monday the 14th i went back to my primary and they said it was infected on the outside if the cut!.!. then on the 21st i went back to the ER casue the pain was so bad all they really said was heres a strongers anitbotic for the infection and that there was some infection on the inside !.!. they told me when i was leaving i should feel better within 2 days thats today and i dont feel any better i feel horrible and i called the surgens office they just said keep taking th antibotics they will help but i was on one for 7 days and one for 2 days and i still feel so horrible i dont no what to do they wont give pain meds casue im 16 and the tylnoal and advil dont do anything meanwhile the schools up my a$sWww@Answer-Health@Com

I feel so bad for you! You may have a lower threshold for pain and that is why you are having such a tough time!. This is a common problem and surgeons and doctors often under treat people for pain after surgery!.
If they won't give you more pain medication, call and ask them what you can do for the pain!. Let them know that Tylenol and Advil aren't working and that you can't sleep due to it!. They may give you something for pain or at least let you know if you can use a heating pad or other non narcotic ways of handling the pain!.
Whatever you do, take it easy and don't do any lifting or anything!. I wish I had more to offer sweetie, I really do!.
I just had shoulder surgery 6 weeks ago and have had to fight tooth and nail to get pain meds and I'm still in a lot of pain!. They just don't GET it, especially since I suffer from chronic pain all the time and that makes surgery pain that much worse for me!.
Take care and try to rest when you can!. Also please call the surgeon and ask for other ways to control the pain!. Sometimes that convinces them that you aren't just looking for drugs and they may give you something!. That's what I did and they did give in finally!. Are you sure its not still infected!? Is it reddish around the incision!? Is there pus coming out of it!? If its still infected that may be causing the pain!. If not, then they can't blame it on infection and maybe they will help!.

Aw!. !. !.I'm sorry you're hurting so much!. Try and sleep!. !. !.sleeping blocks out pain!. And do as they say, and take your pills!. !. !.and brave it!. That's all you can do now!. Don't take anything else (other pills, capsules, ect!.) unless you call your doctor and he says you can take them!. Don't do any strenuous physical activity either!. !. !.
