Answers:
Physical therapy is a way to help people restore their function!. They might have difficulty doing their daily tasks because of back pain, may have difficulty walking because of a stroke, cannot throw a ball because of shoulder pain, etc!.

A physical therapist evaluates the condition, invetigates as to what type of deficits may be contributing to the problem (a tightened muscle, weakness, poor balance, etc) and then designs a program to help overcome those deificits and recover from the problem!. PT almost always involves some type of exercise, but it could also include hands on manual techniques, advice on how to do things a different way, instruction on what to do at home, etc!.

The amount of time that people go to physical therapy is quite variable!.!.!.it can range from 1 or 2 visits to months and sometimes years!. It depends on the severity of the conditionWww@Answer-Health@Com

Physical therapy involves a set of motions or exercises designed to maintain or improve the damage from illness or injury!.

When I had foot surgery, I had a 10 minute routine I did twice a day, and once a week I went to PT to see how I was progressing and to expand my range of motion!.

I still do some of those exercises, because my foot still bothers me a little!. They help!.

You go to PT until going doesn't do you any good (or your insurance runs out)!. Some people's programs can't be done at home, or require another person, so they may go every day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
