Ankle pain, what should i do to help it overnight?!


Question: Ankle pain, what should i do to help it overnight!?
the right side of my ankle/ leg hurts when i point my toe or point my toes to the left!. it goes from my ankle to about my knee but a little lower!. i play lacrosse for the highschool so something probably happened!. I want to know:

1!. what it could possibly be ex!. pulled tendon, muscle, etc!.
2!. do i ice it or put heat on it!? i have a game tomorrow at 5 pm

RICE is always the best place to start!.

Please DO NOT wear a heating pad over night!. You don't want to accidentally burn yourself!. If the warmth seems like it helps, then just wear extra socks to bed!. If you have swelling, it helps a lot to wear ice for 20-30 minutes, then 20-30 minutes of heat and do that two or three times!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Put ice on it before bed then put heat from a heating pad on it while asleep and I would call a doctor tommorrow just to make sure every thing is fine!. Also I would tell your coach what happened and i would not play you can injure it more !Www@Answer-Health@Com

mmm!.!.!.!. put ice cold water in a pail and put your leg in there!.!.!. or just try a cold compress and put it in an area that you think hurts so much!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Dont ice it if it hurts when you stretch your leg out then it is a pulled muscle you should put a heating pad on it off and on for 20 minute intervals!. Alsp stretch before your game and after!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Rest, this means you should take a day off school to keep in elevated at all times!.!.

Ice, apply ice every 1-2 hours!.!. it will bring down your swelling (If your ankles now swollen still use ice)!!

Compression, if you prefer not to use ice then use a strong heat gel formula for sport injuries!.!. elmore oil, dencorub!.!. stuff like that!.!. it does burn especially dencorub but it soothes it!!

Elevate, like i said try and keep your ankle up all day even if it means missing out n ur fave activities!.!. the more you follow the RICE rule then the quicker your ankle will heal!.!.

!.!. If you are worried about your ankle then you should see your doctor! Better safe then sorry!!
Also, remember play the game tomorow!.!. only if your ankle feels alot better!.!. otherwise you can do more damage!.!.!!
