so i've been having a sore upper back for a while now, no big deal really but it hurts pretty bad!. anyway the puzzling part is that the skin in that area burns, and is so sensitive i almost hate wearing a shirt!. there's no rash or anything!. has anyone ever heard of this strange medical mystery!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would go to the doctor and tell him what you've told us!. That happened to me and when I went in to get a MRI I found that my spiral cord was being pressed down with bone!. I had to have a plate put in my neck!. I'm not trying to scare you I just think you need to get it checked!. Neck and back is something that is serious!. I also have degenerate disc disease so what I'm saying I know quite a deal about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it could be an allergic reaction to something that has changed in your lifestyle!. The soap or shampoo while you take a shower may be causing an allergic reaction to the skin on your upper back, but if it doesnt hurt to much, maybe you could try ice!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

After ruling out new soap/detergent/stuff!. Have you colored your hair recently or used some wild stuff on it!?
You can try wearing a tight/soft tank top under your shirt to keep it from rubbing and irritating you until you can get to the bottom of this mysterious issue!.
Also--I've found that Bath and Bodyworks has that bodybutter stuff--it's a Godsend for just about any issue!. Mango Mandarin is my personal favorite!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If nothing is visible, then you may have a spinal spur, which when touching the skin will burn or have a needle type sensation which radiates outward, and feels like a burn!. If nothing is visible, then what makes wearing a shirt so sensitive!. You sure their isn't just a small lump beneath the skin and not yet starting to protrude out!. That may simply be a cyst, that is fluid filled and draining it with a needle by a Doctor will take care of it!. If you apply some ice, does that take care of the burning feeling!. Is there any chance that you could have had a "rash" that you didn't notice!. I had shingles and what you are describing sounds a lot like the nerve pain that comes along with them!. The pain lingers long after the rash is gone!. Even if it is not from shingles, it still sounds like some sort of nerve pain to me!. Just found your q!.!. I agree with Dr!.!. James P!.!. its got something to do with your spinal cord!. Perhaps a disc!.!. I know i had this to happen to me!. The dock did the whole camet of exrays!.!. My whole right leg hurt me and i hurt in my back he said i had herniated disc of course he wanted to do surgery!.!. I went to hubby's ortho dock and he recommended a shot in my spine and that i did!. Took care of that!. To be on the safe side go see a specialist!.!. and find out for your self!. Us quacks here just know one side!.!. you have to find out what is going on !.!. catz, I have back problems and there are times that anything touching my skin causes the kind of reaction you have!. I agree that you need to be seen by a professional!. Try a chiropractor!.!.!.they help me!.
