Question: Pain several months after!?
I had bi-lateral bunion surgery in October 2007!. My left foot feels fine but the right foot has just started to develop lumps on top near the great toe ( right on the surgical line) and is painful and swollen!. It only feels better after I sit with it up for several hours!. I always wear my orthotics!. It looks a bit red too!. what can that be from!? I am calling the doctor but he is out of town at the moment!. The toe is hard to bend and hurts when I do bend the big toe!.

It sounds like you may have an infection along the surgical line!. The redness and swelling are symptoms of infection!. Personally I think you should see another doctor or go to an urgent care clinic!.
If it is infected, you really need to be on antibiotics right away!.
