Has anyone ever had tingling in their legs from sitting at the computer?!

Question: Has anyone ever had tingling in their legs from sitting at the computer!?
My friend told me that sitting to long with your leg folded can cut off the artery and make your leg go numb!.

I really want to know if this has happened to anyone else and if so how long did the tingling last in your leg!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Diane, yes it has happened to me, and i just say my leg has went to sleep lol, but it depends on how long it last!. on how long it has been asleep i have gotten up and tried to walk around to get it to stop tingling!. and some times it just is so weird but yes getting up and walking it off helps it to go away faster!.and get the blood flowing back good!.some times it can really almost hurt!. but it goes away eventually,as the blood starts to flow back into your legs it feels like pins and needles and even numb, when it gets to the numb and pins and needles all at the same time it can really feel almost painful, but mostly just kinda weird, God Bless, and i hope this helps!. have a great day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, ma'am! I'm an office manager, so you know where I'm parked most of the day! I do stretches every hour, simple ones, nothing extravagent!. Stand up, reach to the floor, hold it til the count of 10, pull one leg behind your back, holding by ankle, alternate, then do 10 squats, with your arms hyperextended in front of you!. Before taking that seat, do a couple of shoulder rolls!. Nothing major, but enough to keep that blood flowing through the arteries to avoid the tingling sensations!. Also, drink lots of water, caffeine will encourage this annoyance!.

I've seen a chiropractor, (which is also awesome!), and this was encouraged by him, too! It helps!

Best wishes to you, darling!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it cuts the blood flow down!.
The tingling can last for a couple seconds to many minutes, you really need to get up and move your leg around to get the blood flowing again or you could get a blood clot, that is why they tell you when flying you should get up once or twice and walk around or move your legs a bit while in the seat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Happens to me all the time!. Infact, as I am writing this, I am sitting cross legged in my computer chair!. My legs often "fall asleep"!. It happens to me more often than it should because I have poor blood circulation!. If you find it happening a little too frequently to you (or lasting longer than you think it should, or actually being painful), it is something you will want to get checked out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Legs "fall asleep" from poor circulation!. Lasts until blood flow is fully restored!. Stretch legs every half hour or so and do butt push-ups while in the chair!. Clench butt muscles and squeeze pelvis!. Will be sore after the first few days but this will help with circulation and help strengthen lower back and prevent OCB - office chair butt!. Hips spread, cheeks go flat and begin to sag!.!.!.very depressing!. There are other sedintary excersizes!.!.!.just look them up on the net but the best bet is to just get up at least every half hour and also to make sure that the chair is egornomically correct and supportive!. Love in Christ, ~J~Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah, I've had it happen!. Which tells me I've spent far too long at the computer!.

It usually only lasts for a few minutes, unless I do something horrid to my back!. If my sciatica flares up, I get a sensation like ice water running down my legs that can last an hour or so!. Very disturbing!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey Diane, I can't cross my legs at my computer my desk is to low but I am sure it's true, if you sit like that long enough your leg will go to sleep, I can't stand that pins and needles feeling it hurts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i get numbness, pain, and tingling!.it usually just lasts til i get up and walk a around a bit!. but i can have a last a little longer if i have sat a really long time!. i tend to get really absorbed in my computer!. the time just flies by!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!. It messes with your sciatic nerve as well!. For me, it radiates pain down my outer leg & puts my tailbone out as well!. Numbness I can deal with, the other I can't!. I stay offline more & walk for 30 minutes daily, to keep these issues at bay!.:-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know that at the end of the day and a long shift, my legs will ache and I have a hard time going to sleep because of that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

your friend is right about cutting off the circulation in your legs!. you could set up blood clots by sitting too long with you legs bent!.get up and walk around every once in awhile to keep your circulation up to par!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it happens to me everyday!.!.!.!.just get up and walk!.!.!.!.it will wake up!.!.!.!.!.it's just like when you were a kid and you would purposely sit on your foot to get that tingle!.!.!.!.pins and needles as I called it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not ever happened, but I guess it can I've slept on my arm before and woke up with it tingling and numb,it seems to take forever!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh yes, but I must love the feeling ,as I get up and move around!. and jump right back on the computer, guess I am a glutton for punishment huh!? LOLWww@Answer-Health@Com
