Prolapsed discs at three levels of my spine?!

Question: Prolapsed discs at three levels of my spine!?
I have three of them and have had a discectomy which worked for a while, now the pain is back and I have been off work so much I may be losing my job!. I have tried all kinds of pain relief, and I am waiting to see a surgeon about a fusion, but it doesn't look good!. The pain is between an 8 and a 10 out of 10 each day!. I have tried natural/alternative therapies!. What I wanted to know was, has anyone had an inplantable painkiller device and if so, how do they find it!? The docs are talking about this for me but I'm unsure!. Would appreciate any assistance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have degenerative disc disease!. I have had three spinal fusion two from the back one from the front!. I have a implanted spinal stimulator, it work great for the trial!. Then once it was implanted did not work as well as the trial, in fact it aggravated my pain even more!. I had the thing redialed many times and gave up!. Nothing is worse then being in pain ,and having a useless battery pack implanted in your Butt cheek!. I would think about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably are not going to get a fusion with three disk levels!. Implantable devices include a spinal cord stimulator (dorsal column stimulator) or an intrathecal morphine pump!. Both are good, both have drawbacks!. Both require a trial period to see the effects prior to implantation!. Check the medtronic website for more information!. Make sure that you have seen a competent physiatrist to explore other avenues (but my guess is you have)!. Best of luck - GDPWww@Answer-Health@Com
