It might look good, but stitches are usually left intact for 7 to 10 days!. There may be a hairline opening still there that you can't see with the naked eye, but germs and bacteria will find it!. Not worth the risk!. He has a lot of time left to scuba dive, he just has to make up his mind what he wants to do, and If I know boys, once they've made up there minds, it's hard to change them!. May have to chalk it up to a lesson learned!. Good luck to you and him both young lady!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

After my surgery I still had a tiny hole left that need to heal from the inside out so I had to "pack" it with gauge everyday and I used these special bandaids that are made for getting into the water without getting the wound wet, I was afraid of infection, so I used them!. You should try them they have alot of sizes, they have some pretty big ones too, not like regular bandaids!. You can usually get them at any store, I found them at wal-mart!.
I don't think she should go in case of infection, but if she insists make her wear the waterproof bandaids that are made for those types of situations, they are awesome!.
My doctor didn't suggest getting into community pools and such because of the risk of infection, but as long as the place is protected and keeps try it should be no biggy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can usually wash an area that has been stitched in one to three days!. Washing off dirt and the crust that may form around the stitches helps reduce scarring!. If the wound drains clear yellow fluid, you may need to cover it!.

Your doctor may suggest that you rinse the wound with water and rebandage it in 24 hours!. Be sure to dry it well after washing!. You may want to keep the wound elevated above your heart for the first day or two to help lessen swelling, reduce pain and speed healing!.

Absoultely Not!. you shouldnt even go in a pool when you have stitches, let along the ocean, with God knows what in the water!. He would be looking for big problemsWww@Answer-Health@Com

He should avoid going into the ocean until his stitches are out & he's healed well!. There's so much bacteria in the ocean that could cause a nasty infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think I would risk infection even though it appears to be pretty much healed!. I'm not a doctor though, so I don't really know!. Can he call his doctor and see what his own doctor thinks!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it about healed it wont hurt the sea water might do some good but it might sting a Lil!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you might want to ask the doctor first;
better to be safer then pay the price later!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That might burn a bit since fresh wounds are vulnerable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
