Question: Ocassionally, when a storm comes through, I have all over muscle and joint pain!. Any ideas why!?
It's not anything that bothers me enough to go to the doc but, was more or less curious if this happens to anyone else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lots of people are affected by the pressure in the atmosphere which changes when the weather changes!. Your probably just sensitive to that!. If it bugs you, there are several natural supplements you can take like MSM or Glucosamine chondroitin--

Well I have fibromyalgia and my grandma has rheumatoid arthritis, and we both know when it's going to storm because we have a flare!. Even if it's not bothering you a lot I would maybe go to your doctor and see if he can run some tests just to make sure you don't have some form of arthritis!. I may be suggesting you jump the gun a little, but it could be your body telling you to get a check up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A storm is called a "low front" and it indicates a drop in barometric pressure!. It's likely that the pressure change causes some problems for people!.

My mother had open heart surgery in the late 1960s, and she got an inflammation in her heart sack as a complication following that!. She to this day gets a "flare up" of that inflammation when we get a drop in pressure with a storm!. The more fast-moving the storm, the more sudden the drop, the worse it is for her!.

People used to joke about having bunions that acted up when the weather was going to change--earlier warning than we had before the days of Doppler radar!. So there is undoubtedly "something" to it, but I can't say for sure if it's all anecdotal, or if it's ever been studied formally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, the reason for the muscle and joint pain when the storm comes has to do with the barometric pressure at that time!. When the storm starts the pressure is often high and then when it gets to raining then the barometric pressure starts to come down!.

When the barometer rises I tend to get headaches!. I've had issues with this since I was 14 years old!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Happens to me too!. I get joint pain (and headaches at times when a storm is coming)!. I remember my grandmother saying she could tell when a storm was coming because her knees would ache!. I think it has to do with the barometric pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
