Is it safe to remove a tongue tie at home?!

Question: Is it safe to remove a tongue tie at home!?
A friend of mine has had a tongue tie since birth (she is now 16) as it wasn't cut when she was a baby!. She wants it cut but her parents' insurance won't cover it and it's too expensive without the coverage!. Recently, she mentioned that she wanted to cut it on her own but she didn't think she'd be able to do it to herself!. We discussed me doing it and, although I know I could cut it, I don't know if there's a high risk of infection or of too much bleeding!. Anyone know if it's safe!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My son was tongue tied when he was born!. My wife and I took care of it!. We made the appointment with the doctor and he cut it!. It was a simple operartion and it took about 20 minutes!. I would not suggest you cutting the tongue tied area; let the doctor do it!. He knows right where to snip!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
