i had something like that!.as you heal the blood flow will improve!.when it looks normal again you may find that when you touch the area where you were hurt it will not be as sensitive as it once was due to some nerve damage!.also call your doctor he should be able to answer that question via the phone!.take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Numbness typically means some type of nerve injury or damage!. I'd go back to the doctor to make sure that everything is alright with the numbness!. Sometimes numbness is temporary and other times the numbness is permanent from damaged nerves which may never regenerate!. I'd just check with the doctor and make sure that nothing too serious is wrong, it may just need time to heal, or it could need some type of treatment!. Numbness can also mean some type of circulatory problem, but I'm thinking that your issue sounds possibly more nerve related Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It means you can have nerve damage:

"severe cases of trauma or bruising, there are situations called compartment syndrome!. These are medical emergencies, where the pooling of blood is either so intense and the volume so great that it compromises neurological and vascular function!. If the areas distal to the bruise, toes, hands or fingers, become cold or numb, you should get to a healthcare provider as soon as possible"Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES IT DOES!.!.!.I was in the same situation (except for the getting run over part) last month!. I fell while I was at work loading a truck!. My knee swelled just like you said, and the doctors also said i had a very bad sprain!. I also had numbness and it turned out that I had nerve damage that even the MRI didn't show!. Your body needs time to heal, you have tissue damage, nerve damage the whole shebang!. As long as the area of numbness isn't discolored or open and oozing, you should be fine, just give it time to heal, the feeling should slowing come back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
