Two possibilities, The Piriformis muscle, origin is the sacrum and insert to the posterior of hip bone (greater tracanter) this can cause the sciatic to be trapped, caused by lifting and twisting at same time!.
The Sartorius muscle, origin is the anterior of the hip bone and inserts into the medial side of the knee, crossing over the quads, this will give pain in the upper leg!.

May be sciatica or anurism!. The latter VERY serious!. Go see doctor!.
Spell check not working!. An anurism (however it is spelt), is burst main blood vessel, bleeding to death internally)!. Get it checked before it gets this severe!. Hopefully it's just sciatica!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
