Sounds like plastar fasciitis - inflamation where the tendon (fascia) inserts into the bottom of the heel (plantar region of the foot)!. There is a lot you can read about it, but from person experience, there are a couple very important things to do that are not stressed enough!. When you are sitting, make sure your feet are planted on the floor!. Do not sit with your toes down and heel up!. This will make it worse!. Also, I am a little short and can not always reach the floor!. I found the best thing to use is called a "Healthy Back 3 Inch Footrest"!. The can be found at: http://www!.healthyback!.com/products/heal!.!.!. This keeps your toes just slightly elevated so the tendon does not have a chance to shorten, then stretch and cause pain when you stand up!. The soda can is nice because it is cold, however a tennis ball is even better, followed by the cold soda!. There is no quick fix, so be patient!. It could also be a heel spur!. It is best to go and find out!. There are night splints that can be used, better shoes, arch supports, etc!. But gentle stretching is must before you get out of bed, or you'll remember as soon as your feet hit the floor!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Google "plantar fasciitis"!. I developed it about 5 years ago at age 35, after wearing boots all my life and not taking care of my feet!. Podiatrist tried a bunch of stuff, eventually had to shoot me with Cortizone (ouch)!. He wanted to have me get $400 custom orthotic inserts made, but I went to a store called Good Feet and got a set for $250, semi-custom I guess you'd call them!. Helped me a lot!.
It's from fallen arches, causing the fasciitis tissue to start tearing away from the heel bone!. Hurts worst after being off your feet for a while, then trying to walk!. Your tendon pain is probably from compensating; trying to avoid the normal step because that hurts!. See a podiatrist!. Don't wait or you will do more damage!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have read on webmd that this is a serious symptom and could be associated with having diabetes!. but since it is a hard stabbing it could also be from standing on your feet to long it could be heel spurs!. it could also be lack of blood flow!.

i suggest soaking your feet in warm water for a while and wearing comfortable socks and shoes, also get some ortho insoles in your shoes!. if it doesn't go away see a dr!Www@Answer-Health@Com

it is tendonitis!. get your serum uric acid levels,Www@Answer-Health@Com
