I've f*cked up my toe... how can I fix it?!

Question: I've f*cked up my toe!.!.!. how can I fix it!?
I'm not really sure what I did to it, but it feels like I have sprained or broken the top of my right pointer toe!. (That's the one right next to the big toe!.)

I've broken toes before and I know you can't really do anything to help, just leave 'em be and try not to walk on 'em too much!. Maybe tape the broken one to an ok one!.

Anyway, this toe hurts when I put weight on it, and I was wondering!.!.!. should I crack it back into place or let it heal funny!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would suggest you have a doctor fix your dislocated toe!. I know you THINK you could "crack it back into place," but it is a little more painful than you may think!. I have broken my toes so many times and thought I was so tough but when I tried to do that I found out what a baby I was!. If you do it yourself or have it done !.!.!.Yes! get it fixed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just go see an orthopedic doctor and get his/her advice!. Now if you have an openning or any cracked/bruised areas, you must keep it clean!. I suggest using 1/2 strength peroxide or a product like Bactine AND see a doctor!. In such a case, an antibiotic and/or a medicine to reduce fungi may be warranted!. A bone infection can lead to a far more serious condition!.

You shouldn't have to suffer pain unnecessarily - perhaps a doctor will suggest a remedy for now so that you remain comfortable!. Don't delay and you'll be just fine!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your not gonna go to a doctor, try to tape it into place!. Replace the tape daily and try to set it straight eat time!. Cracking it back into place could mean cracking it out of place completely and having it even more messed up!. Also for walking on it- put two cotton balls on each side of it for support!.

Msg me if you need any more help

I would suggest lining it back up!. If you get drunk or high now would be the time to do it, but then I would suggest letting someone else straighten it up!.

Buy a splint from Wal-Mart or make one and tape it!. It will take about 5 wks to heal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it really is broken, and not just a small split in the surface of the bone (this has happened to me, feels like a broken toe), then you probably should have it set!. If it heals in a strange direction, you may run into immediate trouble in the form of immobility of that joint!. Long-term, I would expect you to be at higher risk for joint paint and arthritis if the toe heals crooked!. Once a bone sets wrong, there is very little you can do to help it!. On the other hand, it should be easy enough (and inexpensive) to get it set correctly at a clinic!.

Also, check your toenail!. As silly as it seems, badly ingrown toenails are just as painful as a broken toe!. If there is no swelling, the bone is probably not broken!. Also, a broken toe will sometimes just numb up rather than hurt, so don't use pain as your sole factor in diagnosing this!. If you can move the toe whatsoever, I would hesitate to say that the bone is broken clean through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
