Brain Injury?!
Question: Brain Injury!?
Does any one know of any one that has recoverd from sevear brain trauma the patient is alert but not responsive I believe he is in a vegitative state with his eyes open it has been 7 months since the injury is there any hope!? Dr's say that the window has passed since any sign of improvement should show by 6 months to a year!. People in a coma have a chance of survival than the ones that are awake and occationally move arms and legs!.!.!.any information about this will help!. The patient is not in the US so the care he is receiving is not that great!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Trumatic brain injury is very hard to recover from!. My brother had a tbi in 1997!. He was in a coma for 4 months!. He did improve, but had to learn to eat, walk, tie his shoes, etc all over again!. It is a very long recovery!. The people who suffer from this rarely regain their personality!. 7 months is a long time to be in a coma, This person will perhaps survive, but may make little or no improvement!. Then again may wake and through rehabilitation could improve greatly!. Doctors still do not know enough about the brain to be able to give you a definate answer!. Don't fool yourself into thinking the US has anything better to offer a coma patient than anywhere else!. I had an aunt who had a stroke!.!.!.went into a coma!.!.!.and the only thing the hospital did was feed her througha tube, keep the breathing machine plugged into the wall!.!.!.and !.!.!.um!.!.!.!.nothing else!
Most countries in Europe have accepted hyperbaric chamber treatments for brain injuries!.!.!.but the insurance companies consider it experimental!.!.and noone gets that here!.
Anyway, after 1 month she woke up!.!.!.and has the mental capacity of a 2 or 3 year old!.

Contact the American Embassy for that Country and/or your local Senator!. They can sometimes intervene in ways for medical treatment and get the individual brought home!. Do not wait!. Call today!.
Edit #1: And from what I understand from a Phys!. Therapist I used who got her training from one of the highest rated Ortho!. Surgeons in Germany, told me that basically today Switzerland is the best bet for all round care and after that would be the UK!. Then the US!. Sad but true!.
