Anyone ever had steroid injections in the Heel of your Foot?!

Question: Anyone ever had steroid injections in the Heel of your Foot!?
My pain management doctor says that at this point those shots are probably the only thing that will help my pain there!.
However, he said that they are extremely painful, so I may want to wait until I absolutley need them!.
My real question is how bad do they hurt, and did you feel that
it was worth it for you!. My pain on a scale from 1-10 is usually a 7, and that is with the pain medication that I already take for DDD, DJD, OsteoArthritis and Sciatica!.
Thanks for your opinion!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had cortisone (steroid) injections in the heel for plantar fasciitis (spur)!. Each time it only took two injections to get a good result!. It hurts a bit at the time because the doc asks you to point out the really bad spot and he puts the shot in there!. However the pain doesn't last very long and the relief you get is worth it!.

Some people don't get such a good result, and four injections is the limit because the muscle can weaken after that!. Hope things go well for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've never had a steriod injection in the heel of my foot before but I had a cortisone shot in my shoulder and that hurt REALLY bad! It hurt worst than the shoulder itself!. I had to take the day off from work!. The shoulder was still sore but it was from the shot!. After that went away (a few days), the shoulder felt better and the pain was gone!. My neice had a cortisone shot in the knee and she said it was painful also!. If you're in a lot of pain and the meds are not working, it is a good idea to get the shot!. At least you will experience it and can decide if you need to get it again or not!. Good luck with that!. I'm sure you will be in pain for a few days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get them in my hip and in my sacroiliac for my DDD, and I get them in my elbows and knees, but I can imagine the heel is mighty painful!. good lock!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My husband did for a heel spur and he said it was very very painful, so he opted for acupuncture and it took awhile but it did work 100%Www@Answer-Health@Com

The shot may be painful but after about 3 days the pain is gone and you can live again a normal life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
