I can not sleep? Help?!


Question: I can not sleep!? Help!?
Hey there, so I normally have a very good sleep schedule, but tonight, I just can not sleep!. How can I fall asleep!? I'll have roughly 5 or so hours of sleep if I fall asleep now!. D: help me!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Okay, your answer strongly indicates that you should abandon hope of sleeping tonight!. You're already doing that thing where you calculate how many hours of sleep you will get if you sleep right now!. This means you are watching the clock and frustrated that you can't sleep!. The cruel irony is that this mental state makes it impossible to sleep!.
Sure, you can try warm milk, sleeping pills, a shot of rum, and a good book!. This should make you sufficiently sleepy by the time you have to get up for work!.
Those things make you feel tired, but your problem is not in needing something to make you feel tired!. You already feel tired!. Your problem is that you can't get your brain to shut off and actually sleep!.
Resign yourself to the fact that you aren't likely to sleep much tonight!. Instead, settle for a nice rest!. Adjust the room to a comfortable temperature!. Block out distracting noises and lights!. Feel how warm and soft the sheets feel!. Don't you wish you could lie there like that all day!? Think about a place you would like to visit!. Picture it in your mind!. Take yourself on a mental stroll through all the places you would like to visit!. How does the air smell!? What birds and animals can you hear there!? Immerse yourself in your fantasy!.
If you fall asleep, you fall asleep!. If not, you at least relaxed and got a little rest!. The big danger is in repeated problems due to a disruption in your sleep pattern!. On occasion I have gone 5 or 6 days without sleep!. I finally realized that I was lying awake for 6 hours and sleeping for the last two hours before I had to wake up for work!. Sleeping pills didn't work!. I had to resort to adjusting my sleep cycle back through a bit of trickery!. I cleared my schedule and went to bed right when I got home from work!. This gave me 11 hours before I had to wake up!. I still ended up lying awake for 6 hours, but I got 5 hours of sleep!. After doing this for a few nights, it was a struggle to keep myself awake past 8 p!.m!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's okay, it happens to me as well!. I'm sure everyone has had a time where they've not been able to fall asleep!.

Don't worry about sleeping!. Sometimes not sleeping (but that doesn't mean you have to stay awake) is the answer :)

If you close your eyes, does all the worries from the day keep you awake!? Does all those worries prevent you from falling asleep!? Are you taking certain medications that prevent you from falling asleep!? Did you eat late at night!? -- eating a lot before sleeping usually disrupts the body-- Is your environment okay to sleep!? No noises or distractions!?

There's lots of reasons why the body can't fall asleep!. It's usually better to go sleep when you're tired and wake up at a fixed time!. :)

Don't worry too much if you don't get enough sleep LOL

The exact same thing is happening to me! Last night I went to bed at 9:30, but didn't fall asleep until 2:30! I think the problem is that we're thinking about sleep, so we can't fall asleep!. Unfortunately I don't know what to do about this, or else I wouldn't have had such a bad sleep last night!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Count sheep!. It works if you focus on it surpirsingly!.

Also, try watching a really boring sport, under a lot of covers to get warm!.

Also, if you have an Nyquil (mispelt I know) take that, it'll help a lil!.
