Question: If you aren't supposed to clean your ears with Q-tips, how are you supposed to clean them!?

they are preventing morons from shoving the Q-tip into thier brain!. I clean my ears with them anyway, but only when my ears are wet (like after a shower)!. and i haven't had earaches since i started!. I used to have SEVERE earaches when i was little, so i'm pretty happy its stopped!. Don't use them when your ears are dry, because it will only shove the wax to your eardrum, and that will cause some temporary hearing loss!. oh,and don't SHOVE it into your ear, because that eardrum isn't the strongest bit of tissue, and WILL pop, causing severe pain, and hearing loss!. they also have ear drops that will dry the wax up, and make it fall out!. (gross)!. if it hurts, then its bad!. Hope that helps!.

Historically, the answer is, *you* aren't supposed to clean them at all!. When your ears are gummed up in a problematic way, someone else needs to clean them out for you!.
With any luck, this would be performed by a loved one (or at least a family member!.!.!.), because they NEED your ears to function!. Search the web for ear picks -- you can find pictures of some carved out of wood, bone, made from silver, etc!.!.!.
Nowadays, get out your wallet and pray the nurse doesn't blow a hole in your head with the air gun!.

Actually cleaning your ear too much can lead to infections and serious damage to your hearing!. And it's not putting the Q-tip too far in!. I had a friend that had migraines so bad she couldn't go to work, it turned out to be her ears were too clean!. You need some wax!.!.!.and technically you should almost never need to clean them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I think they say that mostly to cover their a** so they don't get sued by morons that jam the thing into their ear so far it breaks the eardrum etc!.
Actually, I never use Q-tips, I use the little thing that sticks off the cap of a Bic (or similar design) pen!. If your carefull, it scoops the wax out perfectly!Www@Answer-Health@Com
