Question: How can you tell if a child has a broken bone!?
My 6 year old got her hand stepped on in a soccer game on Saturday!. Right away she had a bruise by her knuckles!. Sunday she had a bruise on her wrist, a little bit swollen there and it was very sensitive!. She seems to function okay except if I push just a little bit on that area w/my finger she yells that it hurts!. I don't know if it's just badly bruised or if she could have a small fracture!. Should I just wait to see how it heals and take her in if it doesn't get better!? Is waiting to see how it heals bad if it is indeed broken!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would be bad to wait if it is broken!. If it heals improperly, they'll have to rebreak it, or at worst, they won't be able to do anything about it!. It could limit her ability to use the hand in the future were it to heal incorrectly!. Better opt to go and get an xray to rule out any serious injury!. Take her to the doctor, its the only way to know for sure!.!.!. Sometimes you can still move it when you have a fracture or a break so take her just to be sure - it could be really bad for her if she does have a break or a fracture and you dont get it looked at, so better to be safe than sorry!Www@Answer-Health@Com
go to the doctor, normally if i child breaks a bone they willl scream the house down even if its a broken finger!. Try not to touch it otherwise they might get cross with you for making it hurt more!. it may just be a bad bone bruising but check it out anywayWww@Answer-Health@Com

take her to the doctors to be safe!. Even if its not broken she may have soft tissue damage which if it doesnt heal correctly maybe a longer term injury then nessisary!. If the bruise got worse, the likely explaination is that the bruising rose to the surface in due time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
