Cracked Coccyx ?!
Question: Cracked Coccyx !?
The other half has had an accident, resulting in a severe blow to his coccyx!.He has been told it may be fractured, but that the only treatment is pain killers, and to try and keep going on as usual!.Has anyone any experience of this!.!?How long is the pain likely to go on for!.!?Are there likely to be any long term problems ---bearing in mind he's 63 and doesn't recover from things with quite the speed he used to!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

i cracked and twisted mine when i was 15 , i couldn,t sit lay down or walk properly for almost a year, im now 38 and although most days i don't notice much , i do suffer from lower back ache and still am not completely comfortable when layong flat on back,Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had a friend fall down the stairs and cracked the coccyx!. She had to sit on a special pillow and take pain killers!. She would stand for periods of time and then sit again!. It took about 3 weeks if I remember right!.

I fractured mine when I was in high school drawing a charge playing basketball!. Oh man did it hurt! And for quite some time, although that severe pain should begin to lessen!. He should get a "donut" (foam cushion with a hole in the middle) to sit on and take his pain meds as he needs them!. He will be fine with time!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I can sympathise!.!.I've done mine in twice now giving birth! Been reading about this sort of thing and you can apparantly have it removed if the pain continues long term!. Look up coccydynia on www!.coccyx!.orgWww@Answer-Health@Com
