I think I've got some gravel stuck in my hand!?!

Question: I think I've got some gravel stuck in my hand!!?
I fell over in a spectacularly embarrassing manner yesterday and as well as a sprained wrist and dented pride have now got a black lump stuck in my palm with a scab forming over it (sorry for the gory details)!. It's too painful to try and dig it out - if I leave it will it just fall out by itself!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It can or skin will grow right over it!. depends on how deep it is!. the big problem is infection!. I don't think the ground was particularly sterile that day so unless you clean it out really good you are going to wind up with a serious infection!. Go see the doctor and have the wound and the gravel taken care of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think this should just work its way out on its own, however, -you can get "drawing" ointment to help it on its way, but i would suggest to keep it moist with some cream (ask your pharmacist) and keep it covered with a plaster until it has worked it's way out It sounds like it is very surface and the body has a very good way of rejecting what it doesn't want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I noticed a small black lump on my forearm, I tried for months to get it out!. Eventually I did break the skin and a small stone popped out!. This was in my arm since I fell off my bike when I was 9!. So I dont think it will come out on its own!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

mak esure you give it a good clean and keep it clean and dry don`t bother with antiseptic creams as it has now healed over if it turnsw nasty in a few days or you staqrt getting red lines on your arms radiating from the injury then see your doctor or practice nurseWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think so!. You are just going to have to be tough & clean it out!. If you cant do it yourself, go to the doc & have them do it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it could be a blood blister try pricking it with a needle and see if blood comes out!.!.!.!. if blood comes out then try and get all the blood out, if it aint a blood blister then go see a doctor or somethingWww@Answer-Health@Com
