The prescription drug Lyrica!. I've taken it for over 2 years and have had Fibromyalgia for 8 years, so I've tried lots of stuff!. Lyrica is what has, by far, helped me the most!. For help sleeping, I use prescription drug Cyclobenzaprine, it is a muscle relaxer!. It also helps with Fibro symptoms!. Anti-depressants are also prescribed for chronic pain and I take Celexa, it helps most with spine pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have tried lots of medications out there for pain release!. I have Fibromyalgia and other things such as Osteoarthritis and Neuropathy all over my body!. I am in constant pain 24/7!.!.!.

Recently my doctor put me on Cymbalta for depression and hoping that the medication would also help me with my pain! I was amazed within the first week of taking it!. Yes, I still have pain but it is controlable!. I sure can tell the difference when I don't take it or miss a dose!.

Now the doctor said that this isn't the results of every patient as each one is different but it is a good thing it helps me!. I have been having problems with these health issues for 26 long years!

Try it is all I can say!

Good Luck & God Bless You!

Firstly, why do you think that it's bad for her liver!? If a person takes too much for too long, then yes!.!.there is a possibility of abnormal liver function!. You don't say how old your dear grandmother is (and you are a sweet grandchild, to worry!); maybe abnormal (not dangerously so) liver function is the least of her worries!. Meaning, with every drug there is a drawback; but if Vicodin lets her lead a fairly normal life, and she's good to go for a bunch more years, then who cares!? It's a trade off, is what I'm saying!. It takes a lot of Vicodin, over many many years, to damage one's liver!. So, don't get on Grandma's case about it; I'm sure the fibromyalgia is her main concern, and if she takes the Vikes per the doctor's order, there should not be any damage, at least permanently!. Again, it's a trade off!. Either live a fairly normal life, taking the Vikes, and maybe maybe having some impact on the liver; or leading a very restricted life, with lots of pain, because of the fear of Vicodin!. This is really something she needs to discuss with her doctor!. But it's very sweet of you to be so concerned!. Heck!.!.just ask her! Just say you are concerned and what can she tell you about it!? That alone will make her feel better!. That her grandchild is concerned enough about her, to try to help her/get her information!. But she's a grown woman, and the pain of fibromyalgia is terrible; so again, as I said, even if the Vikes cause some liver damage!.!.!.it takes A LOT to do so!. I'm sure her doctor monitors her blood levels/liver function levels, or at least the doctor should, and it really shouldn't pose a problem!. If necessary, she can take some other drug!. It's the acetimenophen that causes liver damage, not the fake opiate in Vicodin!. She could be prescribed pure morphine, if necessary and/or preferable!. Poor lady!.!.!.!.send her a "Thinking of You" card!.!.!.that will do more than any damn pill!Www@Answer-Health@Com
