Antibiotic rub on infected piercing?!

Question: Antibiotic rub on infected piercing!?
I have some extra antibiotic pills (Augmentin used for skin infections) and my nose piercing has recently become infected (red bump, puss inside) !.!.!. If i grinded the pills down and mixed it with a little water to make a paste can I put that on my piercing to heal the infection or is this a big no no!?

I'll also continue doing my salt soaks and antibacterial soap rinses but I was wondering if this would speed along the healing process!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Augmentin would not be appropriate for topical use!.
Consider peroxide, rubbing alcohol or Neosporin ointment!.
Years ago there was a penicillin ointment that was used topically!. Although it did work, it was found that it was a fast way to become allergic to penicillin!. I think Augmentin would carry the same risk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try peroxide!. It will disinfect the sores but not burn like rubbing alchohol!. Peroxide is safe enough to put into the ears for melting ear wax!. Dip Q-Tips into the peroxide and dap it onto the sore areas!. Don't forget to seek out the advice of a medical doctor as he/she will know the best method!. You might need penicillinWww@Answer-Health@Com
