Open wounds...?!

Question: Open wounds!.!.!.!?
Okay, to put this simply my hands are all cut up, a very thin rope was caught around them a few hours ago and was pulled at about 35mph!. The rope fell off after a few seconds but not before it sliced skin off of my hands!. In about 10 places the first few layers of skin are ripped off and in a few places you can see the inner parts of it(tissue and fat ect!.)!.(I am typing with one finger!.!.!.)
With the wounds like that, Naturally, I soaked them in cold water for about 30 minutes and then I got a family member to put antibacterial and gauze on it!.
Should I have done that!? I am not one that knows alot about first-aid!.
Should I let the wounds out in the air!?
There was some blood but it seemed to stop after the antibacterial was put on!.
Tomorrow at school it maybe a problem: I can not hold a pen, my binders, open doors and all that!.!.!. :-(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
go to the hospital, with that much open skin it is very easy to get a nasty infection that will eat the store bought antibacterial for lunch!. you might even need a stitch or two!. at least get some professional bandaging done!. bonus= doctors note; no writing!. bonus=painkillers

The best thing to do is go to the hospital from what you describe as far as the wounds you hand will get infected and regular antibotic cream is not goin to work you may need stiches and possibly a skin graft depending on how deep the tissue loss was!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
