The rat could have rabies!. Go to the doctor to get it checked out if it happens!. And, I don't think it is common for a rat to just bite you!. You would have to be taunting it to get it to bite!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Chances of that are highly unlikely!. A rat would usually run before it bites!. I'd treat it like any other animal bite!.!.!.good cleaning, and preventative antibiotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You have it cleaned out and then go through a series of rabies injections!. Perhaps you should consider where your hiking and wear better footwear if your that scared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
