Question: Can you buy Ipecac at Walgreen's!?
If not, where's somewhere I can get it!. I don't want to go to the doctor to get it!. And I want it as a pre-cautionary for my son!. He puts things in his mouth all the time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most all drug stores have quit selling ipecac!. The problem that they were having is that say, someones child drank some sort of poison, rather than calling poison control or taking the child to the hospital, the parent would give them ipecac!. In some situations, this can cause more damage because the poison could do damage going down, and more coming back up as a result of vomiting!. We always have ipecac at our house because my husband is allergic to peanuts and if he eats them, he can take the ipecac to throw the food up before it can cause him to go into anaphylactic shock!. If you do buy the syrup and keep it at home, ALWAYS call poison control before giving it to your child!. They know when you should and should not use it!. If they give you the go ahead, then by all means, but if not, it could cause more problems!. We now buy ours online since it is near impossible to find a drugstore any more!. Don't buy a huge supply as the shelf life isn't terribly long, I think it normally expires within 2 years!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You should be able to!. Although they may keep it behind the counter!. Just ask!. The website says they sell it, but that doesn't mean they'll have it in the store!. My guess would be that they do, though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
