Are anti-depressants dangerous in the elderly!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
While anti-depressants are not "dangerous" in the elderly, they do have a harder time metabolizing the drugs!.They tend to feel the effects more than a younger person!. They may require a lower dosage or extended times in between doses!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Personally, I think they are dangerous for everyone!. Doctors once gave them to me for pain!. I couldn't think to add 2 plus 3, I didn't give a darn about anything, I was la la la all the time, plus they never stopped the pain!. Fortunately for me I never became suicidal like many do on them!.

What made me well was a new healthy diet, no junk anything!. It costs more than buying junk food, but then you don't have to pay for prescriptions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The risk of side effects do increase in elderly patients, but sometimes the risks aren't as bad as continuing without the medication!. You're doctor can help decide if the benefits outweigh the risk!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Check with the doctor or chemist if they confirm its safe then you have to trust their judgment, these are prescribed anyway so it must be OK if their given them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes they can, it seems like all my elderly patients are on them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
