How do I quit the Hydrocodines 10/500?!

Question: How do I quit the Hydrocodines 10/500!?
In the Year 2001 I fell 35 feet and broke my back!. I have been through several surgeries to fix my spine, neck and ribs!. The pain still persists and the doctor has been feeding me these painkillers for years!. Not knowing the withdraws I would have once I tried to get off of them I continued taking them!. I take 4 per day as stated on the bottle!. But now Im starting to think that it is messing with my stomach!. I tried not taking the for more than 6 hours and I started going through withdraws!. After 2 days without them I started getting seriously sick and could not stay off the toilet!. So I had to take 1 to make me feel normal again!. I have tried cutting down to 3 per day but I cant seem to get down any further from there!.

I tried telling the doctor that I was "hooked" on these stupid things but he told me that there was nothing I could do about the withdraws if I wanted to quit!.
Is there something out there that I could take to keep me from getting sick when I dont take them!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Vicodine is a relatively weak opioid!. If it was something like large amounts of Oxycontin then they will usually give you suboxone but as far a Vicodine you will just have to suffer for a few days!. It will only last for 3-7 days at the most!. 4 pills a day really isn't that much and you should feel fine in about 3 days!. Expect diarrhea, cold sweats, insomnia, flu like symptoms and lack of appetite!.

I was taking 400-800 mg of Oxycontin a day which enough to kill a horse and I lived through detoxing cold turkey!. It's the cravings that are the biggest obstacle along with bouts of depression that can lead to relapse during post physical dependency!. My situation was so severe I eventually went on the methadone program for almost 2 years!. I definately wouldn't recommend that for Vicodine users!. Methadone withdraw is 10 times worst than heroine, the effects are the same but it lasts for several months rather than days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
