Question: Sicko- is American health care as bad as it seems!?
After watching the documentary Sicko, i was taken back to say the least!. I am aware that micheal moore has the reputaion to portray very biased opinions but he also shows facts!.
I am from canada, and have never even visted the US in my life!.
But there are a few things i am so blessed with, that i do not have to worry!.
For example, i am having a baby in july- and i am 20 years old!. I do not have to pay a single penny, and i can take a year off while getting paid maternity leave!. (nor could i afford to pay over a thousand dollars to give bith, that seems absolutely ridiculous)
What happens if your son or daughter sprains an ankle!?
I would just like to hear some opinions on the whole health care subject that americans are faced with!.

and if not, how would someone explain the lady who got denied health covereage because the company found out she had a yeast infection in the past!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, my mom works as a complaints examiner for the Insurance Commissioner in WV and she said that movie is dead on!. Her job is to make the insurance companies pay if their contract says they have to!. Half the time, it takes 2 years to get that done!. It is because America is not really the dream everyone thinks!.!.!.America is actually a capitalist country!. Meaning we are behind the big business and don't care about the single man!.
It shouldn't be allowed to be that way but Congress has done nothing to control the insurance companies since the companies pay for their campaigns!. That is why so many Americans are crying out for a universal health care system!. Put our lives back in the hands of doctors and out of the pockets of insurance companies, lawyers, and politicians!.!.!.however, the new Presidential candidates are promising change!.!.!.I will hold my breath!.
In response alot of Americans are buying their pharmaceuticals in Canada!. Going to India for their surgeries!. And, if you are close enough, Mexico for ER!.
If your child breaks a leg and you don't have insurance you go to doctor and pay it off as you go!. Normally leads to bankruptcy!. Or you set it yourself!. That is your options!.
The only rules in WV on insurance companies are: you can't not give someone insurance based on gender, race, religion!. However there are no limits based on prior health, based on age!. If you have allergies they can deny you!. If you sprained your ankle when you were two they can deny you!. They can deny you for any reason as long as it isn't race or gender!.
My roommate does not have insurance and needs a historectomy!. She was told if she doesn't have one within the year she will die!. She is 24!. She will bleed out by November!. Yes!. It is!. There are people that get state aid if they don't make enough money, and that will pay for some medical care!. And I believe Title 19 covers labor and delivery!. I WISH they would pay these mothers to do the JOB of taking care of their kids!. You're lucky to get food stamps or aid for child care!.
