What are the differences between a Nursing Home and Assisted Living?!

Question: What are the differences between a Nursing Home and Assisted Living!?
Answers:
A nursing home is basically total care!. Most of the residents cannot do for themselves and they require Certified Nursing Assistants to take care of them!. I worked in a Assisted Living and the residents their are a different level of care!. If they can still do some things for themselves and only need a little assistance they are good for an Assisted Living!. They still get their meals cooked for them and other things like laundry and stuff are offered!. They have different levels of care at a Assisted living and if they go beyond that level then they are moved to a Nursing Home!. I know alot of times also many insurances and medicare and stuff do not cover Assisted Living and it is very expensive!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Generally, when people live in a nursing home, it's because they need 24/7 care!. When people live in assisted living, they can generally take care of themselves, but may need help with certain daily living activities!. Although some people may live in a nursing home, it dosen't always mean they need 24\7 care!. Occasionally you will find people who live in nursing homes who can mostly take care of themselves too!. It really all depends on what kind of care the resident needs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A nursing home is where the elders that can't take care of themselves are in the care of someone else!. Assisted living is where those that are still able to walk and have been retired, mostly, go!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
