The menthol in it acts to give a cooling sensation and a slight "pain killer!." I really just think that the cooling overcomes the pain and the muscle relaxes!. I can't really figure out what the methyl salicylate does except that it is also a derivative of wintergreen (mint)!. Pretty much does the same thing I think!.
I think it's really just the cooling sensation the nerves have to the chemicals (not that it's really cold) that makes the muscles relax!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
