Question: MY blood pressure dropped so bad that I almost fainted when I had a cut today!?
I had a cut on my fingers today and it was a little deep!. After a few minutes, my blood pressure dropped really bad even though I didn't bleed a lot!. I couldn't see and felt as if I'm going to fall down!. I've seen blood a lot and I'm sure that I don't fear seeing it or something!.
I've had low BP for about a year and I take effortil (Wrong spelling!?) but it has never gotten as low as it got today!. So, I'm just wondering, why did my blood pressure drop so badly today when I had a cut!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think what happened to U is called a vaso-vagal reaction!. It is how our bodies react when injured!. I had the same reaction on 3 separate occasions and my dr said that is what it is called!. The first time was when I had amniosentisis and the big needle in my belly triggered it!. The second time was when I cut my hand badly on a can!. The third time was when the dr was giving me a shot in my back!.

sometimes your blood pressure drops when your body is in pain or in shock!. it's the body's natural painreliever!. also having low blood pressure when you have a cut means there will be less blood loss!. your blood pressure should go up a soon as the pain is gone!. but with the chronic low blood pressure you should see a doctor about it!. BTW since you're a girl did the low blood pressure happens when you have or going to have your period!? or is this everyday!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables!.No masala stuff!.Avoiding smoking,stress and strain!.Best to take a test for renal problems!.Cholestrol should be maintained properly to avoid blood pressure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you sure you didn't just feel faint from seeing your own blood!?
I've seen lots of blood too and it doesn't worry me too much, as long as it's not mine!.
One time I cut my finger in the kitchen!. I put a band aid on it and watched as the blood coninuted to pump out around it!. i thought that was interesting, not too worried!. Then I felt faint and I hit the floor!.
I fainted without even realising I was concerned about it!.
So it is possible that an emotional shock reaction could cause you to feel faint!.
however, if you have a history of low blood pressure and obviously you know more about you than I do, you are probably right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
