Stess..depression...Hair pulling/tugging?!
Question: Stess!.!.depression!.!.!.Hair pulling/tugging!?
I just had a baby 5 months ago!. During that pregnancy I didnt gain any weight, Infact I lost 32lbs overall!. My baby was healthy at birth weighing 6lbs 13ozs!.
This started while I was pregnant where I would break the ends of my hair off!. Well then it lead to actually pulling my hair out by the actual root!. Well it is still going on!. And I dont need any rude comments!!!! I just need to know if there is anything I can take for this!. I am not sure if it is stress!.!.or if I can take something for my nerves, to help stop this!.!.
Once again if you have nothing Helpful to say and only rude things dont bother leaving a message
thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

I can relate to what you are saying, because I have "hair pulled" since high school!. I break off my split ends like a bad habit!. Actually, it may relieve you to know that this is a common occurrence!. I am a nurse and I asked our medical director/family practice doctor, and he assurred me that I wasn't "crazy!." It is called trichotillomania, and even though that sounds bad; it's truly not!. It can become bad if large portions of your hair are being pulled out leaving bald spots!. Many believe that it is stress-related or simply a habit like biting your nails (which I also do)!. I have to be on nerve medicine, and it helps tremendously!. You need to see your family doctor and just explain your situation!. It's perfectly natural for a woman to have stress after having a baby!. You have hormones that are still trying to get back to normal in your body!. I hope this helps, because I felt like I was abnormal and I know that I'm not!. You aren't either, you just need some de-stressors in your life to help cope with the constant demands of an infant!. Congratulations on your new baby, and I hope I have been of some kind of help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
