I hate having to go to bed at a certain time on a night because of the school the next morning - particularly when i dont even feel sleepy!. Are there any ways of getting to sleep in less than 20 minutes or getting to sleep quicker!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I have the same problem, except for work, because I tend to be a night owl!. I can suggest a few things that I do:

-cover your clock with a facecloth if it has bright digital numbers
-take away any ticking clock that you may have
-get an ocean sounds machine!. I have one that has the ocean, a rainforest, a nice rainstorm etc!. Most of them will play for about an hour and you can drift off listening to it!.
They even have ones now that play vacuum sounds, fan sounds etc!. if those types of sounds tend to put you to sleep
-nothing with caffeine after dinner
-a nice glass of milk (doesn't have to be warm)
-a natural scent pillow - lilacs etc!. but get the kind that are not filled with perfume but the actual thing - lilacs, flax seed etc!. You can even get a satin eye pillow filled with natural aromatic herbs that feels wonderful!. (health food store)
-warm up your bed if it happens to be cold - you can put a heating pad or one of those magic bean type things in the bed for a while before you go to bed!.
- stars on your ceiling - you can drift off to sleep while your're looking at the stars - they fade in about half an hour
-make your room welcoming - i!.e!. - make your bed, make it your own little sanctuary - that you look forward to going in to

- food with tryptophan can make you sleepy too eg:
-Bananas, Turkey, Dairy products: cottage cheese, cheese, milk, etc!. but don't eat more than an hour before bedtime - especially not sugar because your blood sugar level drops and you'll wake up in the middle of the night hungry

-try and do only wind down activities before you go to bed - maybe meditate or yoga - something that's at a slower pace

This is a really good meditation site - very soothing:

But also meditation on your own is good, preferably in a dark quiet room (maybe your bedroom) practice some deep breathing too and that will make you calmer as well!.

Meditation is really good because you can clear your mind and lower your stress level and you'll feel more calm about life in general too!. It's sometimes harder to fall asleep if you're worried about the next day's events and meditation will help you stay calm and stay in the present moment and lessen any worries that may be keeping you up at night as well!.

Hope this helps :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
