Question: Health Care in the States!?
I moved to the States from the UK 4 years ago, and have to admit that even with insurance the health care over here is very expensive, and it seems not a lot of people have it!.
How would you fix the health care system in the States!.
And before the stream of abuse towards immigrants come, Im a Legal immigrant, who's working and working on a Degree also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is ONE sensible, comprehensive, voluntary plan that would take care of 90% of the problems, but with no graft or special interests, no one in a power position seems interested and YA folks don't seem to understand it:
QUALITY, ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE health care for all!.
That means preventative care (physical with follow up)!. Real medication (no Medicare "donut holes" the really ill are ripped off again!.) No bogus ridiculously low "caps" on needed medical procedures!. No abuse of the ER!. No paying for the silly with the sniffles to go to the doc for free!. No more bankruptcies over medical bills!. I want THIS plan that ends abuse of the taxpayer, takes the burden off employers, provides price transparency, and ends the rip-off of the US taxpayer at the hands of greedy insurance CEOs (which has been repeatedly documented)!.

For those with REAL needs, ONCE they hit the catastrophic level for them, it's all covered!. No more idiocy about NOT letting a cancer patient have a needed procedure because of a bogus low-ball cap on a needed procedure or such!.
Because the PREMIUM, CO-PAYs, and level of CATASTROPHIC expense are all needs-based, it is guaranteed AFFORDABLE to all AND would end the problem of the uninsured, uninsurable, and medical bankruptcies!.
I gather people don't "get it" because instead of having the government in charge, however, this is TOTAL FREEDOM!. So long as the provider is not a quack, he's under the plan!. Ends abuse of system by those who like to drop in for nothing much by making them PAY their own way after the essentials UNTIL and UNLESS they hit their catastrophic level!.
Also be greatly increasing the number of doctors and others (more med school slots, not STEALING docs from other countries) we stop turning away THOUSANDS of well qualified students for NO legit reason and we more than make up for those docs who WILL retire within the next 5 years--a FACT completely ignored by ALL the Dems and Republicans out there because they're about PATRONAGE not REAL solutions!.
Great plan NEEDS and DESERVES discussion but is getting zero attention because people don't REALLY want change--just to gripe apparently!. I've been trying to alert folks to this for months--from pols and "movers and shakers" to "regular" folks on YA and no one can be bothered because it's not a parrot plan that will NOT work!.
I'm in a LOT of pain this morning, so not in a good mood!. Maybe you'll be different and actually want a solution and not just another bogus bid for UHC!. Sorry if I'm grumpy, but chronic pain sufferers would be able to get HELP with a sensible plan--as would cancer, heart, diabetic, etc!. patients but people are hung up on "delivery systems" instead of results and I'm disgusted!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Affordable insurance for everyone!. My husband and I have to pay over $900 a month for insurance and still have a fairly high deductible!. I can get medicare in a few years, but since California teachers don't pay into social security, he won't ever get social security or medicare!. If we cancel his insurance, we can't get it again if we change our minds!. I can't get cheaper insurance because of a pre-existing condition!. At least they can't cancel on us, but it keeps going up each year and we wonder how we can continue to afford that on a fixed income, even though our income is pretty good now!. Even with the insurance, a recent ambulance ride, hospital stay and doctor bills came to about $1,000!.

It is a political game, the politicians who are making money out of insurance companies and the current system sending a wrong message to people, that if the government takes control over health system then you will not be given good care!. That is not true!. Yes there may be waiting lists, unnecessary procedures shouldn't be cover but if you are having cancer that doesn't mean losing all your savings!
The current system is selfish and is in favor of rich!. in the current system if you have money and expensive insurance you can see the best doctors or go to the best institute even if your condition can be treated efficiently by a family doctor but because you have money you want to be treated as GOD!.
