If a person is allergic to Fentynal can they take Methadone?!

Question: If a person is allergic to Fentynal can they take Methadone!?
Answers:
These are both synthetic opiates, but they are synthetized from different substances!. A person allergic to Fentanyl might be able to take methadone without hypersensitivity!.

True allergic reactions to opiates are infrequent, but fentanyl patches have significant localized reaction not related to the fentanyl!. If the patient has a true hypersensitivity to fentanyl, a patch test and test dose of the morphine by an allergist would be the safest way to determine if the patient is able to take methadone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes they are entirely two different drugs!. Fentanyl is the generic name of Duragesic!. Methadone is Dolophine!.

From the information that I can find, there is no indication that an allergy to Fentanyl would have anything to do with an allergy to Methadone!. They are totally different in chemical make up and compound!.

I have not stated sources because I had to research numerous sites to find this information!.

I hope this helps!

Sure, it's no different than if you're allergic to aspirin you can take Tylenol (acetaminophen)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
