Question: I cut my finger, how do i keep it from getting infected!?
I cut my finger like 5 mins ago its still bleeding but less its not spilling out like it was!. How can I stop it from bleeding!? The cut is pretty deep how do i keep it from getting infected!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If a cut bleeds freely it is not likely to get infected from the knife that cut it, as the blood coming out washes out any germs that were on the knife!.
Infection is more likely to get into the wound when it is partly healed!.
If you cut yourself, always wrap it in something clean (two tissues folded up quite small would do) and put pressure on the wound for 5 -7 minutes!. This is how long it takes for the surface blod to clot and stop the bleeding!.Do not let up the pressure and go peaking at it until the time is up!.
Then wash off the dried blood around the wound and cover it!.!.!.use a bandaid for a small wound, it must fully cover it!.
For a larger one put a pad of surgical gauze under the bandaid, or again the folded tissue square!. It is good for this to be tight so the tissue pad keeps putting some pressure on!.
Keep the injured part out of water for 12 hours!.
The replace the bandaid/bandage as soon as it gets wet, as germs love it damp!.
with a very deep cut there could be blood coming through to the top of the bandage/pad!. Leave it, do not go changing it as this would reopon the wound!. Leave it 24 or 36 hours before changing it!.
go get stitches put in only if the cut is deep enough into muscle for the edges to gape open/
clean around the wound, do NOT clean the dried blood in the wound, this is a necessary "jelly" that holds the wound together and which the new cells will grow through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
