Answers:
you are experiencing arrhythmias, Arrhythmias (or dysrhythmias) are problems that affect the electrical system of the heart muscle, producing abnormal heart rhythms!. They can cause the heart to pump less effectively!. A number of factors can contribute to arrhythmias!. They include coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, excessive use of alcohol or caffeine, drug abuse and stress!. They will do a ECG/echocardiogram to see what is going on!. I suggest that you pay attention to your body and the signs it is giving you!. If your body is telling you to go to the ER!.!.!.!.!.go! the heart is NOTHING to play with! good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually when you can "feel" your heartbeat, that is called palpitations!. Actually, it is worse medically if this occurs constantly and is happening when you lie down!. I don't know why your weight loss occurred, but it probably relates to why you are not able to notice your heart beating!. Feeling a heartbeat means it is working harder than it should have to!. Yet, you stated that it went up to 220 beats/min and came back down!. This sounds like a condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia (SVT), where the heart electrically fires extra beats in excessive amounts before the heart can efficiently pump it out to the body!. You should've experienced shortness of breath, faint or lightheadedness then!. A drop in blood pressure can also make you feel like you are going to pass out!. If you jump up from a sitting or lying position to standing, your body cannot "catch up" to the change and your pressure drops!. This may be a factor, and it's called orthostatic hypotension, and returns to normal pretty quickly!. It's good to get the halter monitor, but usually those are only used for about 24 hours!. If you do not experience an episode during that time, it will not show up on the monitor!. It may be that you need to wear it for even up to a month for the cardiologist to get a better picture--you hit a button when you feel different, it records a basic EKG and you literally submit the results through the phone!. I had a similar problem once before and was diagnosed with SVT, but I was pregnant at the time and it resolved after delivery!. Regardless, the bottom line is to go to your cardiologist, get the monitor and see what happens!. If you experience any kind of symptoms that are worse than now, you need to call 911 or get to the ER by someone else driving you ASAP!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
