Question: I cant sleep, any ideas to help me get to sleep!?
i HATE milk, just the thought of it makes me wanna puke, and if it was warm just ew!.
so dont tell me to drink warm milk please!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Bananas contain chemicals that help you relax and sleep better!. Tea is sometimes the way to go although it contains caffine!.
Try listening to music or something to help you relax like a warm shower!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Here are a few ideas you may want to try - pretty much in the order you should try them in:

Get one of those eye masks they give you on aeroplanes and try them, so that everything is black - no light at all!. That helps for me!.
Have a cup of hot milk or cocoa (but not too large or you'll feel bloated) before you go to bed!.
Read a book you already know!.
Don't try to sleep, lie back and imagine a story - this works like "counting sheep" only better as you won't worry about losing count :)
Make sure you are not too hot or too cold as well!.
If you have things on your mind then it will be difficult to sleep!. Get up and do an action plan for tomorrow to deal with them and then go back to bed!. Take a notepad with you and write down other thoughts you have!.
See a doctor and get sleeping tablets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are lots of ideas here already, but here's mine!.
You don't like milk, but how about Ovaltine!? Herbal tea has been suggested, so either of them then go clean you teeth etc and get into bed and listen to soft, relaxing music/sounds like from the group Enigma or The Power of Relaxation - Atmospheric Moods (the Mighty Rainforest is great!) or Terry Oldfield's Reverence ( very relaxing sounds of wales in the ocean with his music)
I rarely get to the third piece with any of these AND I've found that putting the CD on continuous repeat play, should you have to use the loo in the night and therefore be disturbed, will send you off to dreamland again very easily!.

The best way to try to sleep, is to try to stay awake!.!.!.oddly!. The longer you try to stay awake, the more difficult it becomes!. You could also try a hot bath before you go to bed as it relaxes you and sooths muscles, or try reading!. Drinking hot chocolate also helps me to sleepWww@Answer-Health@Com

You could try these much advertised 'herbal'(!?) remedies - Nytol or kalms - but be careful in case they can be addictive!.

To help me get to sleep I rub some sleep balm onto the insides of my wrist and just below my neck, and it really works!.
