Question: My back is killing me-what can I do for immediate relief!?!?

The immediate answer to this is ice!. Place ice on the area for fifteen to twenty minutes out of each hour!. The ice will reduce any swelling and cut the pain!. With time you will be able to move around!. Next if your state has direct access for physical therapy see a therapist!. They will be able to help you with the pain and dysfunction!. If that is not available see your doctor and ask for a referral!. In the meantime try this!. Only use heat when you are going to do some exercise as a means of increasing blood flow to make the movements easier!. Place heat and not too hot on the area for about ten to fifteen minutes and do the following!. Lie on the floor with your legs out straight!. Slowly bring the front of your feet towards your knees!. There will be a stretching the calves!. Hold that for a few seconds and repeat three or four times!. Next slowly bring one knee up to your chest!. Bear hug that knee into the chest!. This will stretch the lower back and hip muscles!. Hold the stretch for about five to ten seconds and let the knee out a little!. Start the stretch over again until five repetitions have been done!. Slowly return the leg to the floor and do the other side!. Once the last repetition has been done do not return the leg to the floor but bring the opposite knee up to meet it!. Bear hug both knees into the chest and hold for five to ten seconds!. Release the knees out slightly and repeat four more times!. One the last one allow one leg to return to the floor and then put the other down!. Never do both legs at once!. Lastly, bring one knee up to a point where the foot is flat on the floor and the knee is at 90 degrees!. Bring the opposite foot to the same position!. Now gently rock the knees from one side to the other!. The object is to get the knees to the floor but this is not going to happen immediately so take your time with this!. If you are not able to get to the floor sit in a hard chair and try to touch the floor by leaning over!. Put your fingers on the floor and push into them or if you cannot reach the floor grab onto your shins and push your hands down towards the ankles but don't allow any motion to occur!. This will help to release your lower back!. Once these movements are done use ice!. Always end with ice for the fifteen to twenty minutes!. If there is no relief or the pain is too much to attempt any of the above go or get taken to the emergency room or contact your family doctor!. If there is any pain that is running down either leg into the foot get to a doctor or emergency room! While doing any exercise movement never hold your breath! Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

next time you sleep sleep on a harder bed!. or try the floor!. chances are your bed is too soft and your back sinks in or gets in a bad shape!. happens to my dad all the time!.
do some stretches that focus on pivoting on your back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cyclobenzaprene!? it is perscription!. Best bet is a Dr visit!. Will write you an rx for muscle relaxer and Tylenol3 or the like!.

well ! my mom had same problem !. sha applied an ointment on the back!. You can try that by consulting your doctor or you may get X-ray of your back coz it could be a very serios problemWww@Answer-Health@Com

Use either a cold pack or heat!. Take some Tylenol and lay down on your back with pillows under your knees to relieve the pressure!. If it doesn't ease up, go to the doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
