Question: Nose Job QUESTIONS! Please help!!?
Ok, I had my nose broken when I was 8!. I am 23 now!. I know have a deviated septum, my old allergist told me!. My nose has a bump on the bridge, not HUGE, but noticable!. It is also crooked, its pointed a little more to the right!. Also, on top of all this the tip is a little bulbous, and it hangs a little too much!.
So basically I want it straightened, the bumped removed, and the tip shaped smaller!.
I have trouble sleeping, and I am a singer!. I can't breathe through my nose right, so I sleep with my mouth open which dries out my vocal cords, which can irritate my voice!.I also have TERRIBLE allergies!.
So my questions are!.!.!.
Would insurance cover some of the costs!?
Would a nose job adversly affect my singing voice!?
How long would I have to wait to sing again (I sing for a living)!?
Do you think I would need open or closed surgery based on the description of my problems, and what I'd like to have done!?

If you have a deviated septum and you have problems breathing and sleeping, having rhinoplasty is a medical necessity, which would be covered by your insurance!. Your doctor will explain this to the insurance company!.
How long you have to wait to sing is between you and your doctor, based on how long it takes you to heal!. Different people heal at different rates!.
How the surgery will affect your singing voice is something, I suppose, that remains to be seen!. Talk to you doctor about it!.
I had an injury that had to be corrected with two rhinoplasty procedures, both closed!. Neither was a big deal!.
I'm sure you'll do really well!. Communicate well with your doctor!. That's the most important thing!.
