Is my cut infected?!
Question: Is my cut infected!?
I cut my finger (where it bends) pretty deep like 1/3 into the finger 2 days ago!. I washed it with soap/ water and put a bandaid!. I have been doing the same thing for the past 2 days!.
When i woke up this morning the skin around my cut was white and there was a tiny bit of blood!. Is it infected or just healing!? I dont know if i should keep the bandaid on it or not I think i might be bending my finger in my sleep so it keeps reopening the wound!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First off why did you not get stitches for this!?!? That was not very bright!.!.!.
The signs and symptoms of infection are as follows:
-Pain
-Redness (inflammation)
-Swelling
-Whitish pus discharge
-Warm or Hot to touch
-Red streaks running away from the laceration!.
If this describes your injury then you need to seek medical attention right away!. Especially if u got the red streaking as that is suggestive of the infection spreading to other parts of your body!
PS I would not recommend putting Peroxide (H2O2) on the cut if it happened 2 days ago as others have suggested!. As it would actually slow the healing process down!. Hydrogen Peroxide is a debreding agent!. It kills anything and everything it comes in contact with!. Which in your case means it would kill the bacteria in the wound as well as some of the new cells and tissue growing!. Just plan old antibacterial hand soap and water is pretty much your best bet at this point!. Hope it feels better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the way to tell if it is infected
look for
redness and swelling
purple outlining
shooting pain
or intense burning sensations
otherwise you could see a doctor and get it check right now it seems like it's just healing
leave the bandaid off at night, and during the day cover it with neospoarin and leave it on all day

Uncover it for a day or two!. Cuts need to breathe!. Keep it clean, usuing peroxide, and dab it with alcohol once a day!. If it's not red, swollen, and doesn't have pus comming out, it's not infected!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It doesn't sound like it is infected!. Maybe should stop covering your finger and let it air dry!. Just put some some hydrogen peroxide on it to prevent an infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Is it swollen or red!? That would indicate infection!. I suggest using some Polysporin on it and keep it bandaged for a bit longer - that's a deep cut!Www@Answer-Health@Com
If the band aid is wet, your skin can turn white!. If you see pus, yellow colored goo, coming out of cut then it's infected!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i wud put some peroxide on it!.!.!.just to make sure it was cleaned out&that it wouldnt get infected!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
