Pinched nerve, artery, or vein?!

Question: Pinched nerve, artery, or vein!?
I asked a physiotherapist to relieve some tension in my neck when lying down on my stomach!. He told me I needed to turn around on my back and he went up behind my head and instead of giving me a massage like I thought he would, he dug his fingers into the holes to the sides of my neck and I felt him flicking around ligaments like guitar strings and squeezing something until it really hurt, he said he

No he didn't but you need more care than just one session!. Whether he calls it accupressure or myofascial release techniques it should have been painfree by the end of the session!. Since it was not either more is necessary or placement was off and another position is necessary!. One question that needs to be answered was there full mobility before any treatment was done that day!? It is possible that the muscle was pulled and what he did just increased the amount of reflex spasm that was all ready there!. To ease the pain that is now present use a frozen bag of peas on the area or a bag of ice!. You can also use a large can of frozen orange juice or other product under your neck in a lying position!. Use this for fifteen to twenty minutes out of each hour!. At the end try moving the neck around but never into pain!. Another technique to use at home is to lie on the floor and place a rolling pin under your neck!. Take the handles and gently push the rolling pin along the floor towards your head!. This will give you a gentle traction for the neck that might also relief some of the tension!. If that has not helped then return to the therapist and explain all of this!. He should be able to help you and this time ask him not to use the same technique if you are uncomfortable with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
