Question: Does Glucosamine really help your joints heal!?
I have been having pains in my shoulders!. I'm trying to keep active but it seems that my sleep is being disturbed on a nightly basis because of aching in my shoulders and I cannot find a good resting place without some pain at night!. I heard Glucosamine can help heal joints that are suffering from damaged ligaments and tendons!. There are a few different kinds out there!. I would like to hear from people who are trying it, which type your are taking, if it really is helping you and where you get it at a reasonable price!. Please be specific!. First of all, check with your doc to make sure you are not in the first stages of getting a "frozen shoulder" this is where the fluid turns to a semisolid jelly!. It can be cured with shot if discovered early!.!.!.otherwise is it a lifelong struggle!.
Now on to Glucosamine!. My family and friends have tried it for different joints and in different formulations!. The most successful was a combination of glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM!. This is because it takes quite a while for the glucosamine to rebuild the covering!. MSM gives great immediate relief, and chondroitin helps rebuild where glucosamine can't!. A doctor friend says that he likes a "shotgun" approach like this because he can get faster results and fine tune things later on!.

I have osteo arthritis, and had a knee replacement last year (at age 48)!. It is never helped me!.!.and some of the brands have sulfur in them, something I'm allergic to!.!.!.I also tried the Synvisc shots ("synthetic" cartiledge) and was allergic to that as well!.
I have as yet to find something "homeopathic" that helps!.!.!.
only relief I have found (albeit temporary) is cortisone shots in the affected joints!.!.!.(and those are so painful I try NOT to get them!)!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was in a bad accident and was really messed up!. Anyway, after i got out of the hospital the doctor told me i could try Osteobiflex that it will help my healing joint areas!. It was very expensive, but i took it for a year or so!. I feel alot better, but i dont know if its from that or just the natural healing process!. I also keep moving so arthritis dont set in!. I have hip arthritis and have tried Glucosamine!. I personally didn't think it helped any!. I have a friend who has shoulder pain and uses Glucosamine and swears by it!. Sorry couldn't be more helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
