I have decided to stop drinking alcohol?!

Question: I have decided to stop drinking alcohol!?
I have a few questions!. I have been a heavy drinker for almost 10 years now!. I'm just over it!. I'm tired of the way I feel its starting to age me and I'm constantly concerned over the damage I've done to my body!. My question is this!. I know I've done damage to my body you can't drink every night for almost 10 years and not do damage!. Can my body repair some of the damage I've done!? I know I'll never 100% reverse the damage I've done but by stopping can my organs heal and repair themselves at all!?

Thanks for the infoWww@Answer-Health@Com

Surprisingly, the liver is a very 'forgiving' organ and will keep working to repair itself!. It is never, never too late to get on the path to better health; what is done, is done!. Work for now and today!.
Add lots of water, juices, low-calorie beverages, milk, vegetable juices to help hydrate your body and skin!. Alcohol will help dehydrate you & increase wrinkles so work to increase this!. The body will also use the liquids to help remove wastes & toxins from your body by flushing out!. The liver and kidneys need it to do their 'job' properly!.
Of course, good food & maybe a bit of walking or cycling or swimming to get the heart muscle strengthened are all important!.
And of course enjoy all this too!.!.!.!. New activities, friends, family, books, pets are fabulous to make you smile!. All are a part of the work towards a new you!!!

Congrats & Enjoy!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes your body does repair itself and your liver as well!. However, if you have been a heavy drinker for 10 years you should consult your doctor and be monitored!. Alcohol withdrawel, even in the slightest can be deadly!. Your blood pressure can sky rocket!. Alcohol withdrawel is the only withdrawel that can kill you!. Not even heroin withdrawel is deadly!. Not trying to scare you but you should be monitored, eat well balanced meal 3 times a day and take a multivitamin daily!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As a former alcoholic, congrations on making the decision!. It's probably going to be tough but just notice how much your quality of life is improving!. Surround yourself with positive non-drinkers for a few weeks so that you're better suited to fight the urges to revert when you get around alcohol drinking environments!.

As far as bodily harm, most of your body will heal itself!. While 10 years is a long time, it's short in the comparison to your lifespan!. You should be just fine considering that you're stopping in your early 30's (guessing)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The liver's one of the most resilient organs in the body, and it's likely to have received most of the damage from your bad habits!. As long as you live healthily otherwise, you should be OK!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can concur with other answers that, yes, your body can repair itself!. My boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic and quit drinking a year ago in Feb!. His liver enzymes were very high, but the doc told him that if he quit then his liver would repair itself!. He was monitored in our local hospital's mental health ward!. They gave him medication to help with the with-drawl!.
I strongly urge you to talk to your doctor, have a check-up, especially to check your liver, and decide if you need to be hospitalized or go to re-hab, because the with-drawl can be deadly!. Make sure you are honest when telling your doctor how much you drank every day, this will help them decide the best course of treatment!.
What others said about healthy diet, getting hydrated, and taking a multivitamin are all things that my boyfriend was told to do, as well!.
You may want to consider going to Alcoholics Anonymous, or at least going to see a counselor on a regular basis, for the support and to deal with growing up with an alcoholic father!.
Good luck, and Blessings to you!. My prayers, or positive energy, however you want to think of it, are with you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Certainly!.Your body constantly try to repair the damage 24 hours a day and the medicines only help that process!.Have a thorough medical check-up and take treatment for any damage etc!. that has been noticed!.You may seek help from AA or such other organisations and have to change your food habits and lifestyle to help nature to restore your health!.Constantly thinking of the damage done due to drinking itself should be avoided as it weakens the mind!.Have positive thoughts instead!. that will help you recover fast!. Best of luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
