Could this physiotherapist have pinched an artery or vein in my neck or shoulder!

Question: Could this physiotherapist have pinched an artery or vein in my neck or shoulder!?
I asked a physiotherapist to relieve some tension in my neck when lying down on my stomach!. He told me I needed to turn around on my back and he went up behind my head and instead of giving me a massage like I thought he would, he dug his fingers into the holes to the sides of my neck and I felt him flicking around ligaments with his fingers, then he squeezed something until it really hurt, he said he

Talk to him and let him know how much pain you are still in!. Acupressure should have relieved the pain, but sometimes it does cause pain while applying it!. You should not still be in pain the next day!. He may be able to apply a different technique to relieve the pain!. You also may have something else going on in your neck that neither of you are aware of, like arthritis!. (But it does sound like muscle)

You have arteries in the front of your neck, so he didn't touch them!. That would have nothing to do with chest pains during a treadmill!. You may just need to really stretch your SCMs and scalenes on *both* sides, maybe upper traps also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey Dean, sorry to hear about your difficulty!. Yes indeed this PT could have worked to close to your brachial plexus (the nerves running out of your neck, into your chest, and down your arm), or even the arteries of your neck!. The difficulty is that many of the neck muscles that create pain, are very close to this plexus!. It really depends on how good a PT/massage therapist is with their hands! Try ice on the affected side, and then find a very qualified massage therapist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
