Answers:
Could be your sciatic nerve!. To be sure, you should go to the doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first thing that jumps to mind is a bone spur of some kind!. At some points it may be making contact with the nerve and causing the shooting pain!. I had one in my foot through high school that would send tearing pain through my foot if I happened to hit it just right!. I never had an operation, but I haven't had that particular pain for years!.

It is also possible that you have an alignment problem in your feet!. These can cause all sorts of problems, including pain like what you've mentioned, and may be alleviated by the use of orthotics!.

In either case, I would definitely have a doctor check things out!. But as for preventative measures you can take on your own, you might want to look into some shoe inserts!. I absolutely swear by my WalkFits (http://www!.walkfit!.com)!. Don't even bother with the ones they sell in the drug store!. They lose their cushion and shape over time!. The WalkFits will not!.

This doesn't sound like a symptom of arthritis, but JUST IN CASE, you could also start taking about a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar daily!. It's an excellent preventative of all sorts of things, from allergies to arthritis!. You can take it diluted in water if you can't stand it all at once!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
