Numb arm when I wake up?!

Question: Numb arm when I wake up!?
I've woken occasionally (in the morning; it doesn't disturb my sleep) with my right arm curled around my head, completely numb from the shoulder!. It feels as if it's not there, and I have to pick it up to move it!. The feeling returns quickly after that!. It happened this morning, and now parts of my arm ache slightly!. Is it the weight of my head cutting off the blood supply!? What can I do about it!? I don't fall asleep in that position!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello,, this has happened to most all of us!. It's nothing to worry about!. You just move in your sleep, and when you curl your arm up under your head, your keeping your arm bent, it cuts off the nerve and kind of puts the rest of your arm to sleep so to speak!. But once you straighten your arm out, you unpinch the nerve and it recovers very quickly!. Its no different than when your foot goes to sleep as we call it!. You can't do anything to stop it,, you move unknowingly in your sleep!. It's completely harmless!. And yes if you slept in that position for very long it can cause your muscle to ache,, kind of like getting a stiff neck when you sleep with your head tilted wrong!. It happens to everyone at some time or another!. I know its kind of scarey when you wake up and can't feel your arm,, but it goes away quickly and does no lasting harm!. Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

yes this is due to your arm under your head full night!. if u change your posture this will alright!. however every day make it practice to do five minutes exercise moving your arm in proper methodical rotation , like stretching arms in front, side ways, above, on the shoulder etc!. do this every day, in proper sequence!. with out break for months or longer time to keep fit!. no medication required!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have done that by sleeping on my arm!. I agree it is scary, but I have had no long term effects from it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
