The MRI showed I had a torn ACL!. We searched around for a perfect doctor for me!.!. and we found one!. I just had surgery three days ago!. I've been going through lots of pain in my knee!. But, my doctor saids the first 2 days are the hardest!. Has anyone had a torn acl due to pitching in softball!?!?!? How long did it take until to could walk again!?!? I had my first reconstruction about 10 years ago!. A circulating ice pack (you can borrow or rent one from your doc) was the best thing in the world for the first few days!. The swelling is the worst part!. Once the swelling goes down, you can move more freely!. I tore mine, the first time, sliding into 3rd and the second time, in martial arts!. Walking came within a week, but the running and jumping took nearly a year!. I was in my 30's then!. A friend blew his doing martial arts, as well, but he is in his 20's and it took about 6 months to fully recover!. As for the pain!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. depending on the other variables which caused the injury, will determine whether arthritis will set in!. My joint is not as strong as it used to be and I am careful about my movements and spend a lot more time strengthening the muscles around the knee!. My doc recommends I don't wear knee braces unless I am competing!. As for the pain!.!.!.!.!. I have days when it hurts a lot and days when it feels fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
