Question: I had a local anesthetic but it didn't work, why!?
I recently had a mole removed on my back and the doctor injected a local aenesthetic and i felt it begin to work but then I felt everything he did, does this often happen!? why!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is common to feel the tugging and pulling of a procedure with anesthetic!. The medication numbs the pain receptors, you can still feel warmth, touch and movement!. Unless you felt searing screaming pain - I suspect your imagination was just powerful enough to make you think you felt it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You already got a great answer!. If you did have searing pain, I'll add that a local can sometimes wear off before a procedure is finished but when the doc sees that you're in excruciating pain he gives you more local!. If it was a block he may have missed but it obviously wasn't a block and when it is the doctor usually pinches or sticks a sterile needle in to make sure the area is numbed!.
